IFCA : Is this your first IFCA event ?
MT: No, I attended the IFCA Youth Worlds in Reggio di Calabria , IFCA Slalom Worlds in Sylt, Germany in 2015 and  last year the IFCA Pan-Am in Aruba.

IFCA : Ever been to Holland for an international windsurf event ?
 MT: I’ve been to many national cups in Holland and also the Dam-X event where I competed in the Fun race.

IFCA : Have you heard about the Dutch island Texel before ?
MT: Yes. I heard a lot about the “Ronde Texel Event” that is happening every year in Texel.

IFCA : What are your expectations at the upcoming World Championships ?
 MT: Since it is my first year competing in the Men category, I simply do not know what to expect. Hopefully a top 15!

IFCA : Which Boards and Sail sizes will you be bringing to the Worlds ?
MT: I will bring my trustee 2017 Patrik 92 and 115 slalom boards and of course my 2017 Challenger Aero from sizes 6.2 to 8.4

IFCA : How are you getting ready ?
 MT : Since the weather in Holland is getting better I try to practice every weekend if there is wind and next to that I am going to the gym everyday straight after school.

IFCA : Words of Thanks to ?
MT: Thanks to my windsurf buddies from Aruba, Ethan and Nik for being cool dudes that happen to be pretty good in slalom windsurfing and it motivates me to push myself.

Mark Tjon is registered and will be competing at the 2017 IFCA Slalom World Championships in Texel, The Netherlands
