JENNA GIBSON IS HAPPY TO GET INTO SOME SLALOM RACING

I’m really looking forward to it. I have only done one slalom event in the past 2 years, so I will definitely feel rusty, but hopefully, as the week goes on I will settle back into the routines and pick up things where I left off.

Gear set up:
With the shift towards foiling in lighter winds, I hadn’t used my big slalom sail so much at all for the past few years, and I also didn’t windsurf at all between March and July this year due to a knee injury. I used my 2021 8.4 for the first time this week in case we get some light wind days. Last time I was in Paros I raced on every size sail down to my 5.5 warp, so I’m really hoping for a windy week.

Expectations:
Of course, I would love to retain my world title from 2018, but I have not done any training this year so it will definitely be difficult.

At the moment I’m just happy to be back on the water and grateful that we get to travel to such amazing locations like Paros again.

Best Paros Memory:

Sailing over the turquoise water at full speed,

not knowing how deep it is because the water is so clear which made it an unforgettable experience and that is what I’m most looking forwards to.
