MEET LA TRANCHE SUR MER LOCAL LOU VIVENOT

Lou Vivenot, a young talented windsurfer from La Tranch Sur Mer, who has emerged from the Bic Techno discipline, now involved in The Olympic Class RS:X and will make her Slalom competition debut at the 2019 IFCA Women & Youth Slalom Worlds this June.

IFCA: Hometown? 
LV: My hometown is La Tranche Sur Mer, in Vendée.

IFCA: Years windsurfing? 
LV: I’ve been windsurfing since the age of 8, so for 8 years.

IFCA: What have you been doing for the last few Months? 
LV: I have been sailing mainly in RSX, last few months I participated in two national competitions: the first one was in Marseille where I finished 6th and the second at La Rochelle where I finished 5th.

IFCA: Best IFCA results?
LV: I have never participated in an IFCA event before, but to participate for the first time in an IFCA championship and in addition at La Tranche Sur Mer makes me super happy.

IFCA: Your equipment set up for 2019?
LV: For 2019, I mainly own RS:X equipment but for the IFCA championship, someone will lend me the slalom equipment.

IFCA: How would you describe windsurfing at La tranche?
LV: Sailing in La Tranche Sur Mer is really nice, the spot is great, there are always people who sail and that is in all levels of windsurfing.

 

LV: For me, the best thing in La Tranche Sur Mer is the windsurf spot, L’Embarcadère.

 

IFCA: What is your strongest point in slalom racing?
LV: My strongest point in slalom racing is my versatility. Moreover, the fact to sail in other locations allows me to better understand some things on my sailing technique.

IFCA: What is your weakest point in slalom racing?
LV: My weakest point is, not being able to do enough slalom training sessions.

IFCA: What are the latest techniques you’re working on? 
LV: Currently, I mainly work on my jibes.

IFCA: Your Event expectations are?
LV: My expectations for this IFCA championship in La Tranche are, to meet new people who will allow me to progress and to acquire more experience.

IFCA: Are there any other IFCA events on your schedule this season?
LV: This season I have not planned other IFCA events, but I do have other international competitions on schedule as I currently wish to qualify myself at the RS:X World Championship. With the different competitions such as the IFCA championship in June, I hope to gain experience to improve myself for the future.
