The Vakkorama 2024 IFCA FIN & FOIL SLALOM EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS held in ALacati Turkey from 14 to 18 Augusts has come to a spectacular close after 4 amazing days of racing in both fin and foil categories. The Women and Men Windsurfing European Champions in both fin slalom and foil slalom were awarded on the final day in Alacati Turkey.
Alacati provided the perfect set up for this high-stakes competition, where 112 athletes from 12 nations came together to race and showcase their skills on the international stage. This windsurfing destination remains one of the best slalom locations in the world, and we’re fortunate to keep collaborating in promoting and supporting windsurfing in Turkey.
One of the standout aspects of this event was the strong presence of young generation athletes. These rising stars illustrate the future of the sport, participating not just to compete but to gain invaluable experience in IFCA races on home turf. Their enthusiasm and determination to push the sport forward were truly inspiring. Over the course of the event, a total of 194 heats were sailed, with every day packed with intense battles and incredible performances. From the established pros to the youngest competitors, the energy and fellowship between the mixture of athletes were visible, reinforcing that windsurfing is a sport for all ages and skill levels.
The IFCA Class extends it’s heartfelt thanks to Seda Tunc, our dedicated Class executive, who played a crucial role behind the scenes, and to the entire Myga Surf City crew, Vakkorama, Powerapp, the Turkish Sailing Federation, and the Municipality of Cesme for their unwavering support and trust. Your efforts made this event a resounding success.
