Windsurfing Slalom World Championship races in focus at the Excelon 2021 IFCA Slalom World Championships in Pounda Beach, Paros, Greece from the 1st to 5th of September.
Light winds, sun and a relaxed atmosphere including the final registrations and the first skippers meeting marked the first day of the IFCA Slalom World Championships.
IFCA President Ruben Petrisie:
It feels good to finally have events going this season, its been quite a hassle lately. However, this is the second Class World Championship after successfully awarding the Junior and Youth Slalom World Champions earlier this season in Torbole, Lake Garda, Italy. And now until the 5th of September we will have the seniors competing for the 2021 Slalom World Title and with thanks to Excelon, The South Aegean Prefecture, Paros Island Local Municipality, the amazing organization group at the Hellenic Speed and Slalom Windsurfing Association HSSWA, Paros Kite Center and all the sponsors involved.
Main event Organizer Philip Adamidis:
We are super excited to host this World Championship event, the level of the competitors is extremely high and it looks the wind will be strong, therefore we will be looking forward to an epic event. We hope this will spread the seed, so that Paros becomes what it truly deserves “A World Class Slalom destination”. Good luck to everyone.
