TONKY FRANS, MAAIKE HUVERMANN, CORTO DUMOND AND LINA ERZIN ARE CROWNED EUROPEAN FREESTYLE CHAMPIONS
The Final Tour stop of The European Freestyle Pro Tour took place at the Zeil & Surf center in Brouwersdam, South Holland from 10 to 15 October.
Tonky Frans has been the tour leader throughout the whole season. After winning the event this year in Neusiedl am See, Austria the Bonairean could not get pushed off the first place any more. He chased the tour around the globe, stayed focused on his goal and secured his title with a 4th place at this event.
The first time in the history of the EFPT, the Women’s title has been awarded in 2015. Since that time, there was one woman – Sarah-Quita Offringa – who stood out to an extend that seemed to be out of reach for the other competitors . This year however was the first time, that another lady could beat the multiple Champion and it was no other than local hero Maaike Huvermann.
Taking the Junior Boy Champions title home is new comer Corto Dumond from New Caledonia. Corto competed in the juniors and pro fleet and was soon an opponent, that has been feared – not only among the juniors.
Winning the first ever Junior Girls title has been Lina Erzen from Slovenia. There is definitely a lot of potential and we are looking forward to see more of this lady in the future.

Brouwersdam Local Davy Scheffers takes the Event victory
I am so excited to win the single elimination here at my home-spot in front of so many people! It’s where I learned windsurfing, where I trained for all the EFPT and all the PWA events and finally I made it. It was also the final that I wanted, to sail against Steven. He always has been the one to beat for me. The conditions were really though, we both worked hard and showed a lot of technical stuff. It was really a high level competition against Steven. So I am super happy.
