A great long racing day at the Excelon 2021 IFCA Slalom World Championships in Pounda Beach, Paros, Greece.
The Championship races could finally start on the second competition day, in light to medium wind conditions during the morning hours and later during the afternoon the wind increased in the range of 18 to 25 knots making it a great spectacle for the beach visitors with full speed finish crossings in front of the beach. Bruno Martini ITA and Jenna Gibson GBR are the current event leaders however, tight points in the man result listings will make the rest of the championships very exciting.
Team Great Britain (Jenna Gibson GBR , Sarah Jackson GBR) dominate the Women division score board with their perfect timed starts, top jibe accelerations and outstanding board speeds. With more racing days to go, things could still change for the 3rd position where Olivia Rosique FRA is positioned with 7 points ahead of Tuesday-Lou Judd FRA.
Current event top 5 women results:
In the Men’s division it has been furious racing with a total of 3 eliminations completed which allows the first discard to be given. The strong Bruno Martini ITA is the event leader and was the winner of the first Championships elimination. Now sharing equal points with Malte Reuscher GER who is one to keep an eye on during the next few days. The top listings are close and the door is still wide open at the moment as racing will get even more excited in stronger wind conditions the next days.
A special mention for the young talented Lennart Neubauer GRE who shows great strength, sharp jibes and board control and is the top Greek competitor at the moment in this championship.
