DAY 2: 2021 PANNONIA IFCA JYM SLALOM EUROPEANS

Intense Racing in tricky wind conditions enough to secure the first event results in all divisions of the 2021 PANNONIA IFCA JYM SLALOM EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS IN NEUSIEDL AM SEE AUSTRIA.

Light winds welcomed the competitors on the second competition day here at lake neusiedl in Austria. The first races were completed for all divisions in winds from 13 to 16knots with a few ups and downs while tricky conditions produced difficulties for some of the athletes. A few races had to be restarted due to shifty and dropping winds which occurred towards mid day.

Before the second round of races could continue, the Race committee decided to relocate the course area with hopes of better winds during the afternoon hours. With 4 full fleet eliminations accomplished and 2 regular eliminations for the youth, the dark clouds started approaching during the afternoon hours, making the wind conditions even more unstable and the competitors were sent ashore until further notice from the race committee.

The wind failed to return and the races were called off in the late afternoon.

Tomorrow’s forecast looks not all too promising and all eyes are on Wednesday with high hopes for some more racing during this championship.

Top 3 after 3 full fleet eliminations for the Juniors, Girls and the Masters and 2 eliminations for the Youth.
