2019 IFCA JUNIOR, YOUTH & MASTERS SLALOM EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 1st to 6th September 2019 Alacati, Turkey
Day 2 at the Alacati Wind Fest
Fabienne Hoogendam from Holland and Italy’s Francesco Scagliola dominate Youth divisions after 2 racing days. The light to medium wind conditions spices up the Masters and Juniors divisions, causing for close battles action and crowded first mark rounding on the second competition day.
Day 2 continued after a similar situation as the first day with the winds slowly building up towards mid day. The first heat of the day could start at 11:30 with the Masters B Final which was won by the Greek Philip Adamis and completing the results of the first elimination of the championship.
Local Bora Kozanoglu still dominates but we could see changes in the next few days as better winds are expected. The ones to watch are Erkan Morgan from Turkey, Italians Andrea Rosati including Mr. Cucchi.
One of today’s surprise performance goes to Cagla Kubat “ the one and only female mixed between the Masters” with a 6th position in the A Final of the first elimination.
The French TuesdayLou found her pace and wins Race #2 while Fabienne managed to sail away from some nasty clashes at mark 1 during Race #1 and is the current event leader after 3 Races in the Youth Girl division.
Oda Severe from Norway had a competitive day – among the strong Turkish Junior Squad – and shares equal points with Turkey’s Ipek
The Juniors boys managed to complete their first elimination on the second competition day. Italy’s Nicolo Spanu claims the first victory in the first completed elimination.
All of the top 5 are all in top form and with the A and B Finals of elimination #2 scheduled for tomorrow, we cant wait to see this exciting division racing in hopefully stronger winds.
