Pounda Paros and the Hellenic Speed Slalom Windsurfing Association is ready for The 2019 IFCA Slalom European Championship for Men and Women. The event location is known as the ultimate slalom training spot in Greece and also is it here, where some of the best national and international slalom races have been taking place. The usual wind conditions are thermal and with the predicted forecast we expect racing to start as of Thursday 11 July.
The opening ceremony took place downtown with several speeches from government and tourism deputies including the Major of Paros who has promised to bring back slalom action to the Greek waters for the following years to come.
A total of 58 Competitors from 14 Countries are registered for this European Slalom Championship. The expectations for high speed downwind slalom racing are set high. It likely will be a few easy days during the first part of the 5 days scheduled event, giving the competitors some time to examine Paros, while enjoying the calm before the storm.
The Slalom Champions attending are:
2017 slalom World Champion Ethan Westera from Aruba, 2018 slalom female World Champion Jenna Gibson from Great Britain, 2018 European female Slalom Champion Brigita Viilop from Estonia, 2018 European Master slalom Champion Marko Sekulic from Croatia and the multiple Master Slalom Champion Andrea Rosati from Italy.
The IFCA Class wishes everyone lots of fun and fair races.
Let the games begin.
