The IFCA World Ranking for Slalom has been updated after the 2017 South American slalom Championships held in Brazil.

Did you know!

The 4 Major Class events are already set and confirmed for this season and 2 of them are our World Sailing approved official Slalom World Championships. The Youth and Masters Slalom Worlds in Lake Garda, Italy this summer from 2 – 7 July  and the Men and Women Slalom Worlds in Hvide Sande, Denmark in September 9 -14th .

Further more The 2018 European Slalom Championship will be the season opener in Sylt Germany from the 14 to 21 May and later in the year The Junior, Youth and Masters Europeans will be a Joint Venture at the Croatian Slalom Grand Prix in Bol during the summer 13 – 19 August. For our South American Windsurfers, The South American Slalom Continental Championships will be held in October in Argentina.

The IFCA Grand Prix Series continues:

The new IFCA Grand Prix Series saw 3 successful events this season in Austria, Croatia and Mauritius. With only 1 foil and 1 freestyle stop, Slalom Racing has become one of  the main disciplines for the Grand Prix series events.

The Overall top 3 Ranking of the 2017 IFCA Grand Prix Series:

in 2018 we will see the IFCA Grand Prix Series back with a selection of events in new destinations.
Newly added is the focus on Youth competitors with Youth podium slots and IFCA Grand Prix Youth titles. Also adding the integration of the Formula & Foil disciplines which will create room for interesting combinations of racing formats.

Changes in 2018:

  • The Class Youth Division age limit is now set to Under 21 (born in 1998 or later). 

  • Equipment registration for the season now allows 3 boards and 6 sails as from 1st of January 2018

  • Max Board width now is 910mm
