IFCA: Was the IFCA Slalom World Championships in Bol, Croatia already part of your schedule ?
Marine Hunter: I had planned on going to world tour events this year but the Turkey event seem highly compromised and the event in La Torche is not for girls anymore. I raised money through a crowdfunding to be able to attend these events and the IFCA has become a reliable backup!
IFCA: How is your windsurfing season going so far ?
Marine Hunter: The season is going okay, I had to dramatically reduce my amount of training due to a shoulder tendinitis… Next year will be better!
IFCA: How do you combine “Paris” the big city life and windsurfing competitions?
Marine Hunter: Paris is central actually so I have plenty of choice regarding competitions and spots! We share cars with other windsurfers and the atmosphere is really cool. I work part time so I can train twice a week without problem. It’s a pretty intense lifestyle with its downsides but I love it.
IFCA: Have you ever been to Croatia before?
Marine Hunter: Never! I heard it’s such a beautiful place.
IFCA: Your event expectations are ……….
Marine Hunter: Surprise! I don’t know all the competitors, I don’t know the spot… All I know is that I’m not so good in light winds. Right now I expect sun, good vibes and tough battles.
I’ll adjust my expectations after a couple of races
