No Intermission on Day 3

After the 3pm postponement the thermal winds finally arrived and the races could finally continue.
Another round of full eliminations were completed for all divisions with the Masters already completing the first 8 heats of their 4th Elimination at the end of the day. The Race committee is doing an amazing job here at the 2017 IFCA Youth and Masters Worlds managing 2 race areas and keeping a steady flow and all the starting procedures, protest procedures and scoring. Its a first time concept for the IFCA class to be dealing with the record breaking amount of participants and a 2 course area set up including  the great wind conditions Almanarre provided until now.

Day 3 conditions were nice from 13 to 16 knots with stronger winds up to 22knots until the late afternoon, making it tricky for competitors to prepare and race on the right equipment set up which is, in the end part of the racing game.

Girls  –  Juniors  –  Youths  –  Masters

Hat trick for Lilou Granier winning all heats sailed so far in the girls division, In the Junior there are the 2 Nathan Doom from New Caledonia and Aruba’s Nathan Westera as the strongest competitors battling for the 1st positions with 4.6 points difference after 4 completed Eliminations. In the Youths it is Basile Jacquin from New Caledonia who made a strong come back after small mistakes during the first competition days and Local Boy Jimmy Thieme one of the most consistent youth competitors with 2.4 points right behind him. Its still all interesting to see which competitors will remain on the podium positions in the next coming races. Adrea Rosati is the new leader in the Masters division after 3 completed eliminations, however Ludo Jossin from Spain and the defending Masters World Champion Marco Begalli from Italy are both 2 skilled sailors hungry to fight for the 2017 World Title. The pressure is on.
