2016 IFCA SLALOM WORLDS REGISTRATION DAY

THE HEAT IS ON

74 Competitors are ready for the 2016 IFCA Slalom World Championships in Brac, Bol, Croatia.

The inscriptions took place today from 10am till 5pm, with nice slalom conditions. The thermal winds came trough earlier then expected with bright clear sky’s and winds from 18 up to 25 knots, allowing competitors to practice and final tune there registered equipment’s.

Already great vibes here on the beach and with a pretty good predicted forecast, there is no doubt for some great slalom action during the next coming days.

The 2016 Defending Slalom World Champion is Vincent Langer from Germany.

IFCA: How does it feel to come back and defend this title ?
Vincent Langer: I am looking forward to fight against the other sailors again. This title was my biggest success and I will do everything to defend this title.
IFCA: What were the effects in your windsurfing career after winning the 2015 World Champ Title ?
Vincent Langer: Actually because of this I got some mew sponsors outside the windsurfing marked, which is not so easy.
IFCA: Bol is a tricky location but the water is nothing like sylt, what type of gear set up have you prepared for this event ? Vincent Langer: I was in Bol last year for the Euro cup. We had very light wind and flat water. I like this conditions and my gear is working very well. I am fit and I feel ready. The last few month I was more or less very day on the water. Was training on Tenerife, France, Lake Garda and Germany.
IFCA: It seems that there are quite a few youngster hungry for the title.. , do you feel any IFCA: pressure ?
Vincent Langer:There is always pressure. We should not forget that it is a world championship! Lets see how fast they are.
IFCA: Its almost summer, how was your season so far, events, projects to name a few?
Vincent Langer: I already had 7 events so far. One on Cape Town, 3 in Germany, Suiss Championship in Hyeres and the PWA in Korea. Busy time for me.
IFCA: Your event expectations ?
Vincent Langer: I just want to have a nice event and want to be happy with my performance.

The Official Opening Ceremony is scheduled for tonight on the main square in the city center in BOL.
Tomorrows skippers meeting is scheduled for 10am with the first possible start at 11am.
